Patrick Joseph McCall (1861-1919) was a musician best remembered for his epic ballad of the Insurrection of 1798, `Boolavogue . His ballads stand as the soundtrack for much of the history of the area, and his life, both in music and through his efforts to change the lives of Dublin s poor, stands as a monument to a man dedicated to others.
