We love the late-fifties early sixties Ivy League vibe of cotton oxford cloth. This one s beefy but not rough, with just the right amount of heft to it, and while you really can t go wrong with oxford, it s especially suited to a button-down or band collar. It s also the sort of fabric that can start its life as a dress shirt and finish as a sport shirt — because the more you wash it, the more you wear it, the more you knock around in it, the better and softer it ll get. (NB: For all of our oxford cloth, Sid recommends selecting the sport unfused collar option, no matter how you plan to wear it. The fabric has enough structure that it doesn t need interlining in the cuff or collar, which is included with our MTM dress shirts.)
